Though I usually gravitate towards neutral colors, I can't wait to experiment with bright, bold, red this fall! Designers including Fendi, Max Mara, Victoria Beckham, and Oscar de la Renta have all shown head to toe "power red" looks on the runway this past February, and the daring hue has been deemed the "color of the fall" by Elle Magazine among other fashion publications. If you're not quite ready for a head to toe red look, start off by trying a red blazer! The classic silhouette matched with the striking color will add a wow factor to your look without going too bold right off the bat.

This particular piece is incredibly special to me since it belonged to my mom, who passed away suddenly when I was eleven years old. A fashionista herself, my mom wore this jacket in her early years as a businesswoman. Upon discovering the retro piece, I decided to get it tailored to fit me as I pursue my own career in business. Sans the 90's shoulder pads, this vintage-style blazer is perfectly updated for 2017.

I've grown almost a decade without my mom, yet I still carry her spirit with me in everything I do. Fashion can be purely functional or aesthetic, but it can also hold great sentiment and tell a story. I love that this piece makes me feel close to the woman I aspire to while staying true to the woman I am.

As always, thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful week!

xx Brooke
