Living Like the Locals: Naples
The past couple of years, I have traveled to Naples, Florida to visit my lovely grandparents. This much-needed get away usually means a few things: wonderful company, perfect weather, great food, and prime shopping!
I have to admit, one of my favorite aspects of traveling is taking pictures! I could not wait to use my new camera to take some golden hour shots at sunset on Naples Pier. Though I have a lot of learning to do, I loved the way these turned out!
After watching the sunset at Naples Pier, we ventured down to 5th avenue to enjoy the vivacious night life. The whole street was illuminated with sparkling lights while the locals enjoyed live music, fine cuisine, and an electric ambiance!
Moving on to shopping! Two of my favorite places to shop in Naples are Waterside Shops and Miromar Outlets. Waterside is more of an aspirational trip, since I can't quite afford luxury designers on a college student budget, but I love drawing inspiration from the latest collections from designers like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Dior. A girl can dream!
On the other end of the price spectrum, Miromar is an outdoor outlet mall with brands like Saks off 5th, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, BCBGMAXAZRIA and more! As I aim to buy quality pieces for affordable prices, I found the most success there. Most of the pieces I found were at least fifty percent off and still on trend. To me, finding designer clothing at reduced prices is the best kind of shopping! Maybe one day, I'll walk into Saks Fifth Avenue and break the bank, but for now, I'm happy creating the illusion of a pricey wardrobe.
Visiting my grandparents in Naples was just the escape I needed! Saying goodbye never gets easier, but I'm so grateful for the wonderful memories we share. For now, I'm back to my routine in Madison. What are your favorite spring break destinations? Safe travels, and happy spring!
